SCP-001是一种异常现象，影响以下的其中一个（或两个）：

  • Site-01内部数据库以及Site-01人员的记忆。

通过尚不为人知的机制，SCP-001已影响了基金会文档以使SCP-001-A的存在或不存在合法化。Site-01没有除了本文档外的任何证据可以正式SCP-001-A的存在，而所有其他基金会数据库都储存了这些文件的备用版本以证实其存在。同意，Site-01人员声称不知道SCP-001-A，而其余80%以上的人员声称对其名称、图像以及相关文档有着明确的记忆。

SCP-001-A是Maria Jones，据称为Site-01人员的一员。除Site-01内部数据库外，基金会数据库一致表明有以下细节：

  • SCP-001-A是RAISA主管且已成为主管逾十年。
  • SCP-001-A表现出对基金会及其宗旨的非凡忠诚。
  • SCP-001-A在妥善收容以及归档大量异常方面发挥了重要作用。

2001/07/02，SCP-001被发现于Site-01数据库安保系统检测到两次SCP-001文件的未授权更新之后，而该文件之前用于储存一系列被称为“传承合集”的退休提案。只有第二次更新是可见的，因为第一次更新莫名地没有归档。经过检查，发现SCP-001提案文件被替换为单一的、未格式化的文档，内容为“Maria Jones不存在”。此次编辑使用了一组未知的登录凭据，该凭据不对应Site-01 SCiPnet系统中的任何用户；然而，外部系统核实该凭证对应一个名为Maria Jones的用户。
